One-Minute Church Communication Lessons

One-Minute Church Communication Lessons

The Certification Lab is a focused, practical, small group learning environment for new church communicators. We hope you’ll join us.

Below is an example of the kind of insights you can get. These are short, less-than-a-minute clips. The Certification Lab is two full days. If you like this tiny taste, you’ll probably love going in depth with these instructors. Register now for the Certification Lab.

You might feel like you’re just the bulletin guy, but nobody else in your church is going to care as much as you do.

 Kelley Hartnett on Confidence:

You might feel like you’re just the bulletin guy or just the slides girl, but the truth of the matter is nobody else in your church is going to care as much as you do about branding, nobody is going to care as much as you do about punctuation and clear communication. …So you need to develop lots and lots of confidence.

Stephen Brewster on Too Cool:

“A lot of times we try to make things really cool. … Sometimes we maybe over-cool things, we get a little too cute with our design and we lose the essence of what we’re trying to communicate.”

Gerry True on Priorities:

“When I started out any project that came in I thought it was the most important project. But when you have a whole boatload of projects and every one of those projects are equally important it’s hard to decide what you should be working on. I was stuck with trying to meet all these expectations and I was regularly falling short.”

So excited about the upcoming Certification Lab! Adjusting to my role as a church Com Director with no professional ministry experience has been difficult these past 4 months… and though I have survived, I do not feel like I’m thriving. I have now been in the position long enough to begin to understand the culture of our new church and community, but priorities and self-doubt are still a struggle daily. I’m looking forward to the energy, wisdom, and practicality these veterans will bring to the table during our time in Atlanta in a few weeks. Thank you for this opportunity!

Any chance you will ever offer your certification lab as a live streaming event?

Holly, probably not. One of the big values of the event is the in-person, small group atmosphere. You really need to be there to connect and interact. We might explore different things, but that’s a big part of what makes the Certification Lab what it is.
