Pumpkin Giving, Not Smashing
(Filed under: Evangelism & Outreach)With Halloween upon us I can't imagine a more timely marketing example than a youth group giving (not smashing) pumpkins. I love that it's a timely gift, but more than another freebie, I love that it's the complete opposite of what people expect from teens.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for posting that. So simple, yet gives a definite message of thoughtfulness.

It's good to see that there are some teens sending out a positive message on a day that is associated with mischief. Personally, I never participated in any of the pumpkin smashing. They're more enjoyable carved anyway.

I have a great idea ... just have your kids go out and steal pumpkins from the rich houses and give them to the poor ... then after halloween, you can have the kids go back out and steal the pumpkins back and bash them to be helpful in the clean-up process.
