How Churches Around the World Are Celebrating Christmas in 2010

December 22, 2010 by

I just love seeing the church unleash it’s creativity in so many different ways around world at Christmas.

Christmas services can visually look different, feel different and sound different. There are big and small productions, traditional advent, choirs, carols and even Christmas in 3D.

No matter whether your church is doing a contemporary Christmas production or something a little more traditional drop in a comment below, add a link so we can all see what you are doing.

What is your church doing for Christmas? Drop in a comment and a link and let the world know!

Our church is doing 3 nights of services called, God with Us:

“In times of uncertainty, we all need to be reminded of the hope that is found in the Christmas story. Join with us this season, as we celebrate the truth of what the bible calls Emmanuel, God with us. Choose one of three nights; Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd or Thursday 23rd and let yourself be taken on a journey of personal stories, drama, original music, video and traditional carols to respond to the reality of God with us.”

Elevation Church is rocking 18 services over 3 days and 4 campuses. Complete with Drum Cirlces, killer video elements depicting mary/joseph in today’s time and life size snow globes…which may or may not have people in them. We’ll be showing the Christmas experience on Elevation Experience [ http://elevat.io/n/xp ] starting Friday.

Shame your list of worldwide activity only shows USA, UK and AUS? I’d love to know how they celebrate in India, China, Peru or Sudan. They probably don’t bother with websites and marketing – no need.

    But I did notice these:

A Christmas party with a vineyard fellowship in Latvia.

Christingles at many churches in the UK like here.

Of course for churches that come from the eastern half of God’s family, it isn’t even Christmas yet! Not until 7th January!

Tim, FYI, we did reach out on Twitter but sadly didn’t get much of a worldwide sampling.

Have a look at what we’ve done this Christmas in the UK
A national poster campaign on bus shelters and billboards + 2 new commercial radio ads around the message ” Christmas starts with Christ”, which we intend to run as a long term theme.
Is there any interest in joining with us to run a truly global campaign?
Already this year I have received interest from many countries and a Spanish language adaptation is running in South America.
Please take a look at our website http://www.churchads.net and let us know what you think.
    Happy Christmas everyone!
