Catalyst West Creatives Tweetup

April 26, 2010 by

I had the pleasure of hosting a tweetup at the Catalyst West conference this past week in Southern California as the area Regional Network Coordinator for the Center for Church Communication (CFCC, the nonprofit parent of Church Marketing Sucks). What impressed me most was the passion of everyone I met and the fact that my wife’s homemade chocolate cupcakes were a huge hit. People from all over the country were there with some very impressive people in creativity and communications.

It was my first time representing CFCC and more than one church communication leader mentioned how they were going to utilize the labs to improve their church flyers. I estimated about 50 people we connected in less than one hour–church com directors, worship leaders, lead pastors, and some creative professionals as well.

I am still following up with people I met and created a Twitter list to keep track of those who came by or who RSVPd.

We even had a few giveaways, including Jon Acuff’s book Stuff Christians Like (arranged by CFCC’s executive director Cynthia Ware) and 15 CDs from Integrity Music (Deluge, Carlos Whittaker and Vicky Beeching).

Since I didn’t have the CDs with me at the event, I thought we could give them away right here. If you attended the tweetup just comment on this post! We’ll arrange the shipping and get the CD to you.
