The video was made using Adobe After Effects. The writing and voiceover were done by the folks at Soul City Church. This is a good representation of the fact that art (visual and otherwise) will be a key ingredient in the expression of Soul City Church.

Loved the video. I was wondering, although it’s a question or response that’s a bit more shallow than the previous were, what exactly did they use to produce the video?

You’re so right Sean. I love what this video says, but it is certainly much harder to do. I’m a big fan of earning the right to talk about Christ and my faith. But even then we need to love people to just simply love them. Not to earn the right to convert, not to get them to come to church, but just to love them.
That doesn’t mean we should ask them to church, tell them about our faith, etc. those things are important, but they’re not the only things.

This seems like an awesome idea for several reasons, ESPECIALLY if they aren’t all preachy every day of the week. Functioning like a normal human being the way the bible teaches to function out in the eye for all to see, that is BEING the gospel, talk is cheap now days, look at Obama hahaha.
As awesome and exciting as a church like this seems to me, I still remain skeptical. Why does it have to be ALL about the church? Are these all church events they will be doing? Will this church ask its congregates to volunteer for all these events several days a week? When a church wants to be so involved it makes me cautious of that church.
What happened to teaching people how to live a good loving life? Work hard, raise a family, be a functional part of the American way of life, and worship the creator on Sunday? I miss those days.
Just be a good person, love the creator, and give thanks to he who provided, why all the showiness? When does life start to be about God, and not about church?
How ever if this church is just a bunch of church members chilling out amongst the community and being human beings and not pushy christians shoving around there beliefs then this will be ONE awesome church. I hope they stay real, and stay human.

Ditto, Christy. Great video, but they need to fix the “they’re” typo in the third frame. It seems nitpicky, but first impressions matter and it’s a lazy oversight for something they obviously spent a lot of time (and probably some $$) on.

This is a great concept – very clever. Two challenges: It’s about a minute too long and could have used one more visual element to really make it pop! Started getting repetitive.

Great message and a really awesome, simple little way to communicate.
Personally, I love this approach to church and I think it is desperately needed. I hope this church will share the Gospel along their way.
That may sound simple, but it doesn’t always happen. It seems like more and more churches are into being everything for their community needs except the gospel.
The retaliation often following is that “we need to be more relevant in our community.” I say do both…be relevant while sharing the Gospel, or else you’re just “loving” people to hell.

Hmmm… interesting concept! The church being the church as a lifestyle and not just an event. Always refreshing!
It seems as if there is a major call by God to bring us back to some of the basics of our walk…discipleship, repentance, etc.
